Continuing the initiated cooperation
between the Medical Center UMMC (Yekaterinburg, Russia) and VEPRO AG Germany

"We can say with certainty that the VEPRO IT-Solution promotes increased efficiency of work in our Medical Center, UMMC IT-Director Mr. Kalinin says.

On 14 August 2013 VEPRO AG Germany technical specialists began to start a new project “Updating an existing IT Solution” at UMMC Medical Center at Yekatarinburg, Russia. The cooperation of both, UMMC and VEPRO AG, began in 2009 with the first installation at this Medical Center.

As a part of the current project, the following tasks have been implemented. Installation of a more powerful and modern Virtual Cluster Solution consisting of a Management Server , Gateway and Backup Server, PACS and VIS update and at least the replacing of the Viewing Stations, as well as the Surgical and Diagnostic Stations etc.

Although changing the complete system to new hardware and software was a labor intensive and time consuming process, all work has been conducted and terminated just in time thanks to the well-planned and thoughtful installation design.

Fedor Kalinin

"The switch to the new software and new server happened during the Department of Diagnostic Radiology operation. Once the new system was put into service, the medical staff noted that the system has a higher operating speed and a much shorter response time.

Because of the new PACS and VIS versions have processing and archiving procedures of all medical images and video sequences in the central archive even less time, doctors also require much less time to prepare for the diagnoses and findings. In addition, increased reliability and data security are emphasized. The software is characterized by clearer and easier handling and reduced number of actions, which may positive affect the automated workflows in the medical center in future”, Mr. F.N. Kalinin, the UMMC IT- Director says

Within the project, the VEPRO technical specialists payed attention on particular staff training. During this time they provided individual trainings to each user group: Radiologists, Technologists, Nurses, System Administrators. The individual structure of the user groups made it possible to adjust the training right on their special objectives, knowhow and individual needs. The Medical Center Staff is highly motivated and enjoy to work with the new IT-Solution.

"We can say with certainty that the VEPRO IT-Solution promotes increased efficiency of work in our Medical Center, UMMC IT-Director Mr. Kalinin says.
