Modality Work List (MWL)
Describes a DICOM-service which makes a direct transfer of a list of work orders together with patients data from an information system for an image processing apparatus possible and for this reason it substitutes for a new input.
Modem
Describes an invented word of modulators and demodulators and therewith it describes an apparatus which uses an analogous telephone network for the data transfer from one computer to an other. For that purpose it converts the digital data of the computer in an analogous signal and contrary.
MPPS
Modality Performed Procedure Step describes a fixed defined DICOM-category which serves for the transfer of examination parameters of image processing apparatus directly to a RIS.
Multimedia
Corresponds to the integration of different data material like image files, text files, patient master data, examination results, language etc.
